Sustainable Site and Landscape
Design
Integrating stormwater management into the
fabric of neo-traditional communities, The classic American cities
and towns from which the new urbanism draws its inspiration were
built many years before passage of the Federal Clean Water Act.
Working with leading engineers and hydrologists, Brenton Associates
are developing appropriate aesthetic responses to integrate best
stormwater management practices with urban form. This drawing shows a proposal for a civic
square. A formally landscaped garden adorns one end of the
square. A bioretention facility reflects this garden at the
opposite end of the square.

As part of Tredyffrin Township's Safe Routes to School project, Brenton Associates integrated tree preservation objectives with stormwater management retrofits. Brenton Assoicates proposed conservation seedings for curbside infiltration trenches. |
