The Germantown Avenue Monument,
Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Brenton Associates, Inc. is project landscape
architect for the Rotary Club of Chestnut Hill's initiative to
restore Fairmount Park's historic gateway at the intersection of
Germantown Avenue and Cresheim Valley Drive. Brenton Associates,
Inc.’s design work has included selective clearing to restore
views, planting of native tree and shrubs, as well as exotic seasonal
flowers, recommendations for stream stabilization, and securing
Streets Department approvals to close a redundant turn lane and
improve pedestrian safety. This project has required extensive
coordination with the Fairmount Park Commission, community volunteers,
and neighboring business owners.
