The work of Brenton Landscape Architecture offers many examples of projects fulfilling the criteria proposed by the "Sustainable Sites Initiative".

The Sustainable Sites Initiative is "an interdisciplinary effort by the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the U.S. Botanic Garden to create voluntary national guidelines and performance benchmarks for sustainable landscape design, construction and maintenance practices." This initiative complements the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards for buildings and neighborhood design. Some examples of the application of these criteria in our work are listed below:
